Local toons and notes about this weekend

I had a VERY busy week, so I'm just now getting around to posting these. Both of these cartoons were based on local events that were precipitated by national issues (love it when that happens). Anyway, for the first one, Baker County is looking to cash in on larger ships from China making their way through a newly renovated Panama Canal (In 2014 it will have a wider pass-thru so they've dubbed it Panamax). Choices will have to be made as to which County in NE Florida has the best location for processing the extra goods. Baker is looking pretty good.

For the second one, with several storms passing just east of Florida, and a continuing economic storm on land, I thought everyone could relate. BTW, I was interviewed by First Coast News yesterday about my career as a political cartoonist. It will air tomorrow morning at 7:30am. The name of the show is On Point and it is moderated by Shannon Ogden. Those guys at FCN could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Great experience! Cheers, Ed
